The Konzerthaus in Vienna Resounded with the Brno Philharmonic Music

The Philharmonics performed at this prestigious concert hall of Europe under the baton of their music director and principal conductor Aleksandar Marković on Wednesday, May 2nd. The young German violinist Christina Brabetz played the ferociously difficult First Concerto by Henryk Wieniawski. Dvorak's Seventh Symphony characterized by its dramatic expression and Ligeti’s early ‘Concerto Romanesc’ completed the program of the spectacular evening for the Brno Philharmonic.

The Philharmonics Dazzled the Austrian Audience with Mahler

Brno Philharmonic Orchestra returned from its regular appearances in Austria (13.4). Under the baton of Austrian Norbert Pfafflmeyer it presented a demanding program and played Gustav Mahler's Fifth Symphony in the Casino Baden.

In the first part the lyrical work by Richard Wagner Tristan and Isolde, Overture and Isolda’s Death, were performed.

The orchestra was rewarded with constant abundant applause and a standing ovation after an encore.

Brno Philharmonic Orchestra returned from its successful performance in Belgium (March 20th -22th), where it had performed at the Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp. The solo parts were presented by Igor Ardašev, the great Czech pianist with an international reputation under the baton of Aleksandar Marković, the music director and principal conductor. 1500 people in the audience could expect some great jewels of the Czech music e.g. a prelude to The Bartered Bride by Bedrich Smetana and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 "English." The orchestra received tumultuous applause and standing ovation after an encore.
